Zoe’s verdict: on paper, pick the Anker stand for your desk or nightstand and the Apple puck if you want the highest charging speed and an easy travel charger. Both are magnetic, and both need a decent wall adapter to hit their top speed.
Quick comparison
What the specs say
Anker MagGo Wireless Charger (Stand)
- Up to 15W to your iPhone, up to 5W for earbuds, Qi2 certified.
- Rotates 360° and tilts across a 70° range, and supports StandBy mode in portrait or landscape.
- Lists compatibility with iPhone 12 through 16 and AirPods with a wireless charging case (turn the pad horizontal for AirPods).
- About 6 inches tall and 252 g, so it sits on a desk rather than in a bag.
Apple MagSafe Charger (1 m or 2 m)
- Up to 25W when paired with a 30W power adapter, certified for Qi2.2 and Qi.
- The faster 25W speed applies to compatible iPhone 16 models, iPhone 17 models and iPhone Air. Older magnetic iPhones still charge, at lower speeds.
- Magnetic alignment works on iPhone 12 and later. It also charges iPhone 8 and later, and AirPods with a wireless charging case, through standard Qi.
- A flat puck on a 1 m or 2 m cable, so it packs easily but has no stand.
What buyers report
Anker stand. It was rated around 4.6 out of 5 by well over a thousand Amazon buyers when we checked, but ratings move, so look at the live number on the Amazon card above. Anker’s own guidance points to three things that matter in daily use: use a strong adapter (it recommends 25W or higher with USB-C PD), keep the case under about 2.5 mm and magnetic, and use the phone-removal technique from the guide so the base does not lift when you pull the phone off.
Apple charger. Some buyers report that the 25W speed is not sustained, because the charger throttles as it warms up, so the real-world gain over a 15W charger is smaller than the headline number. Treat that as a pattern reported by buyers, not something we measured.
Pros and cons
Anker stand
- Stands up on its own, so you can watch, video call or use StandBy while it charges
- Rotates and tilts to the angle you want
- Lower top speed (15W)
- Needs a strong adapter, and the base can lift if you pull the phone off carelessly
Apple MagSafe Charger
- Highest advertised speed (25W) on the newest iPhones
- Slim and easy to pack
- No stand, so the phone lies flat or hangs from the cable
- Needs a 30W adapter for full speed, and buyers report throttling when warm
Who should buy which
Buy the Anker stand if you want a charger that doubles as a desk or bedside stand and you charge mostly while you work or sleep.
Buy the Apple charger if you have a recent iPhone, want the fastest top-up, or want one slim charger for the bag.
Skip both if you need to charge an Android phone without magnetic Qi2 support. Anker says its stand is designed for magnetic-charging iPhones.
